Big weekend for good music and fun times

June 15, 2015

Summer has finally arrived in the valley, and Fisherman Fred, Hurricane Annie and I drove upriver Friday night to catch the Russell DeCarle Trio at the shiretown roadhouse. Wonderful western swing and some hurtin' music on a warm June night. Listened to their new CD 'Live at Loud Mouse Studios all Saturday morning while I baked a cake.  I'm a fan for life. Saturday night was a memorable birthday bash for a lovely lady of our acquaintance, and Mike Bravener, one of the very best Elvis tribute artists around put on a fabulous show. Amazing voice and showmanship. King-size fun! Yes, two nights in a row, we took our seven year old daughter out to a bar. At least she will have something to write in her school journal besides 'went to the wine store with Mom' (true story) or 'watched 88 episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants.'
